Our History

From a single act of kindness to a global movement. The story of CitiHope Charities began with a simple yet powerful belief: no one should have to face hardship alone.

What started as a small, grassroots effort to help a handful of struggling families has since grown into a life-changing mission that reaches communities across the globe.

In 2015, our organization was deeply moved by the struggles faced by vulnerable families in their own neighborhood. What began as personal outreach—delivering meals, offering shelter, and gathering basic supplies—quickly revealed a deeper, widespread need.

Driven by compassion and a vision for a better world, Kevin Costner gathered a small team of volunteers, fans, friends, and supporters. Together, they launched the first official programs—focused on food distribution, safe housing, and emergency aid—laying the foundation for what would become CitiHope Charities.
